Forgot to tell van insurer about previous claim

I took out a new van insurance policy last month, but forgot to tell them about a past claim for a lost set of keys. The claim was a couple of years ago, but the insurer is demanding an additional £120. This is more than 25 per cent of the whole policy, which seems outrageous. I would cancel the policy, but they want £140 to this as well. What are my rights?

Unfortunately your failure to disclose the claim doesn't leave you a leg to stand on. Easily done, but expensive.
